A plugin update broke your pages. Hear it from us first.
Your WordPress site still answers, so the uptime monitor stays green. With our plugin, Up’n’Top rechecks your key pages after plugin and theme updates, catches PHP fatal errors and names the plugin behind them.
Our own algorithm, built on years of hands-on work growing real websites.
What Up’n’Top checks on WordPress
- Pages after updates: with the plugin, the home page and up to 4 key pages are rechecked after a plugin or theme update — status, speed, title and headings.
- PHP fatal errors, with the plugin, theme or core file they came from.
- Known vulnerabilities in the plugins and themes your site shows, every week.
- Files that must never be public — wp-config backups, debug.log, .env — plus an open user list in the REST API and an open xmlrpc.php.
- Posts and pages from the WordPress REST API, with Yoast SEO titles, descriptions, canonical and noindex.
- Analytics tags on every checked page: a tag that vanished after a theme change shows up as a problem.
How to connect
Add your site’s address. Up’n’Top recognises WordPress and reads pages and posts through its public REST API — nothing to install.
Install the upntop-monitor plugin from your dashboard for update checks, PHP errors and the list of plugins. It sends nothing until you connect it.
Click Connect in the plugin and confirm in Up’n’Top. The plugin also confirms that the site is yours.
Under the hood
A lot happens before you get a message. All of it is our own work.
Before and after: the plugin reports an update, and we recheck your key pages and compare them with how they were.
Every PHP fatal error is traced to its plugin, its theme or WordPress core.
Only changes are read: the REST API tells us which posts changed, so a large blog is not crawled again and again.
Fixes go back through the plugin: titles, descriptions and redirects change only after you click Apply.
Questions
Do I need the plugin?
No. Without it we check pages, SEO tags, exposed files and plugin vulnerabilities. The plugin adds update checks, PHP errors and fixes you apply from Up’n’Top.
Will the plugin slow WordPress down?
It writes events locally and sends them in batches every 5 minutes. Before you connect it, it makes no external request.
Which SEO plugins do you read?
Yoast SEO, through the REST API. With other SEO plugins we read the tags on the page itself, as for any site.
Will the checks slow my site down?
No. We make at most 2 requests per second, one at a time, and back off when your server asks us to.
