Up’n’Top

Free website checker

See what we’d watch on your site — in about 30 seconds, no sign-up.

No sign-up, no code on your site. No more than 50 requests, at most 2 per second.

The same algorithm that runs Up’n’Top — our own, built on years of hands-on work with real websites.

What the checker looks at

Eight blocks, each with what is wrong and how to fix it.

Availability

Does the site answer, with which status, how fast the first byte arrives, how many redirects.

HTTPS and certificate

Is there a redirect from http:// to https:// and how many days the SSL certificate has left.

Domain

When the domain registration expires and who the registrar is.

SEO of the home page

Title, description, H1, canonical, viewport, image alt texts, markup, hidden from search (noindex).

robots.txt and sitemap

Does robots.txt exist and does it block the whole site; is there a sitemap that parses.

Speed and weight

Time to first byte, size of the HTML and of the images on the page.

Links and images

Up to 20 links and 20 images of the home page: which ones are broken.

JavaScript errors

Errors in the browser console and scripts or styles that fail to load.

What the result looks like

What we’d watch on the site and what one check can’t see — then the score and the eight blocks.

Questions

How long does a check take?

Usually 10–30 seconds. If many people are checking at the same time, you will see your place in the queue and the blocks appear as they are ready.

What happens to my data?

We store the result for 30 days so that you can share the link. We do not store your IP address, only a one-way hash of it for the limit, and delete it after 48 hours. The result has only what anyone sees from the outside.

Why is there a limit?

The checker visits other people’s sites on your behalf, and we must not overload them or ourselves. So there is a limit per network per hour and per day, and a short calculation that your browser does before a check. Results of the last hour are reused.

How is this different from continuous monitoring?

The free check is a snapshot of the home page. In an account we check the home page every hour, groups of pages every day and the uptime every few minutes, compare prices and stock, and send an alert when something breaks or recovers.

Which sites can be checked?

Any public website by its domain name, on the standard ports 80 and 443. IP addresses, local and internal names are not checked.

Is the score the final verdict?

No. It starts at 100 and drops for every problem found: 20 for broken, 8 for important, 2 for improve. Blocks we could not check do not lower it.
