What Up’n’Top checks on Shopify
- The price on the product page against your catalog; for products with variants, against the lowest variant price.
- Stock: a product is in stock if any variant is available, and the page has to say the same.
- Analytics tags on every checked page: a tag that disappeared after a theme change, or a page view counted twice.
- Products sold out for more than 30 days that are still in your menu and open to Google.
- Missing or zero prices, a price that changed by more than half, a compare-at price that is not higher than the price.
- Product pages without product markup: without it, the price on the page cannot be read by search engines or by us.

Prices are compared in your store’s currency, to the cent.
Pages that earn money — home, cart, products in stock — are checked more often.
A page counts as broken only after a second failed check hours later — no false alarms at night.
Large catalogs: a sample of every page type is checked every day, so no product page goes unseen for long.

Do I need to install a Shopify app?
No. Up’n’Top reads the public catalog every Shopify store has. Nothing is installed and no key is needed.
Can you see my orders?
No. On Shopify we read only the public catalog: products, prices, stock and collections.
What if my theme shows the price with a script?
We read the price from the product markup on the page. If a page has no markup, you get a problem with the fix instead of a silent miss.
Will the checks slow my store down?
No. We make at most 2 requests per second, one at a time, and back off when your server asks us to.
